The look of the Dandy title did subtly change from time to time. The new look seen here for the first time in issue #1771 (dated 1st November 1975) had a simple white line added to the middle of each letter, and each letter had a slighlty dishevelled appearance. Hardly earth-shattering but this issue also gave us four brand new stories and a free gift to enjoy. The gift was a Korky glow in dark mask and the following weeks issue came with the Funny Face-Maker.

The price of The Dandy had doubled in 18 months, and now cost 4 pence. Still excellent value. For these four pennies you could still read the old favourites like Korky The Kat, Desperate Dan and The Smasher, as well as the new characters, Peter's Pocket Grandpa - where grandpa was the victim of a gipsy curse, TomTin And Buster Brass - who were two home-made robots, one a cat, the other a dog, Rah-Rah Randall - where each frame had you cheering or booing within every frame and finally Izzy Skint (You Bet He Is!). Jack Silver took over the coloured centre pages from Corporal Clott.
