Many thanks to Patrick Lavarenne from France for these scans from a book entitled
Le Mystere Des Soucoupes Volantes (The Flying Saucer Mystery).

Patrick tells me that the original story was created in November 1954 by the Belgian author Albert Weinberg in the Belgium/French magazine called "Tintin". Its original name was "Dan Cooper" and it was published up until 1986. The team name was the same "Red bisons" in English or "Bisons rouges" in French, but the name of his best friend "Buzz Simpson" was originally "Jacques Gagnon" (a typical Canadian name).

Patrick also states that the French version was published before the English version and starred Dan Cooper instead of Jet Jordan and the French version was all in colour (grrrrrrrr!!).

Nowadays, you can find all his stories reprinted in a new collection called "L'intégrale Dan Cooper" from the publisher "le lombard" (see the following link : http://lesintegrales.dargaud-lombard.com/entre.html). I don't know if there is an English version of these books.

You can click the first three pages of the French images for a larger version.

Many thanks to Patrick for these images and the information - Al
