Re: What comics did you buy today?
Back in the groove this week with 62 Commando comics of which I'm hoping at least a dozen or so will fill some gaps in the early 1000s I have as well as a few before #1000.
I am really looking forward to 111 issues of Bullet being delivered that I managed to get for only about 37p each. I will now be searching for the remaining 50 odd to get the set now. Yet another set I'll be aiming to complete!
Finally I picked up another Marvel All Colour Comic #1, this time Peter Parker , The Spectacular Spider-Man.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Got a batch of Commandos delivered that I bought in a private deal over the weekend. The seller even put in a freebie of Micron's issue 5 of Western Trail. Lovely stuff.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

Picked up three random issues of D C Thomson comics from Close Encounters, Northampton. A Bunty, a Hotspur and an Emma.

Went to Kingdom Comics (and Kirkcaldy) for the first time. Bought my first Korak - Son of Tarzan too. Not that I really wanted too but, to be honest, there wasn't much I fancied. Quite a lot of comics in the wrong place too which made finding things difficult.

Bought the first of my four missing issues of Sparky (in this case, No. 123). Only Nos. 77, 121 and 126 to go.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
It's been a quiet couple of weeks for me but this weekend I've managed to change all that and buy:
Picture Combat Library #1 - Sea Hunt (GMS) 1959,
Nightmare #1 (Top Sellers) 1975,
3 x Valiant Summer Holiday Specials 1978, 1979 + 1 I haven't confirmed yet (1980 I think),
Raymond E Feist - The Magician pt 2 and the Wood Boy (Marvel) 2015 I think (I loved the books!)
Valiant Story of the West #1 (Fleetway) 1965,
Fantastic Four Weekly #1 with free gift boomerang (Marvel) 1982
and finally Fantasy Stories #1 (Spencer) 1960.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Went to Lewisham yesterday and in The Works I came across a History of Spurs in comic strip form - full colour throughout. A hardback book. I thought it was drawn by Trevillion but it wasn't. It was only £2 and I will give it to my mate Steve who is a Spurs fan. They only had one copy left.

Coincidentally I picked up a handful of assorted war libraries at the weekend as well, including Commando #20, Picture Combat #96, four Pearson titles, Battlecry #10 & 11, Conflict Library #257, Pocket War Library #25 and War at Sea #13 - at prices ranging from 25p to £1. It really is astonishing how many different publishers jumped on the band-wagon!

I saw Air war Picture Stories and Club War Library comics on Ebay only yesterday. There must have been 20 - 30 odd different war digests at least.philcom55 wrote:Coincidentally I picked up a handful of assorted war libraries at the weekend as well, including Commando #20, Picture Combat #96, four Pearson titles, Battlecry #10 & 11, Conflict Library #257, Pocket War Library #25 and War at Sea #13 - at prices ranging from 25p to £1.
