DATES OF 1ST AND LAST ISSUES ?

Post by Old Forum Fella »

Could anyone help me with dates for the following firsts and lasts please ?.
Marvel UK Planet Of The Apes and Star Wars.
Star Wars Weekly.
Last issues only for Roy Of The Rovers, Warlord, Captain Britain, TV Century 21.
Would anyone be able to advise on the scarcity of these issues ?.
Thanks in advance...Mark.

DATES OF 1ST AND LAST ISSUES ?

Hi there, Planet Of The Apes #1 was dated w/ending 26th October 1974. In some of these issues there was a printing error. On page 33, panel 3 there was a blank speech balloon.
The last issue of Roy Of The Rovers was dated 20th March 1993 and recently fetched ?25 on eBay.
Last issue of Warlord was dated 27th September 1986 (issue #627).
Last issue of TV Century 21 (as opposed to TV21) was 30th December 1967 (issue #154).
I don't know the details about Star Wars and Captain Britain.

I hope this helps a bit.

Captain Britain (a big hero of mine) starred in:-
CB weekly #1-39
Super Spider-Man & CB weekly 231-253
Hulk comic (not the Incredible Hulk weekly - that's different) - amazing tale featuring the Black Knight, Merlin, CB's alcoholism/ death/ rebirth 1-60 (Black Knight runs to #62 - CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS HIGHLY ENOUGH!!)
Marvel Super-Heroes monthly 377-388 (new costume)
Daredevils 1-11 (Alan Moore & Alan Davis' Cap + Frank Miller's Daredevil + classic Spidey - what a comic!)
Mighty World of Marvel monthly 7-16
Captain Britain monthly 1-14
+ 3 or 4 Summer Specials and one Annual
Cap was also involved in some of Knights of Pendragon vol.1 1-12 (with a great version of a working class Union Jack, Inspector Dai Thomas becoming a superhero and a few other new British heroes such as Albion)
thereafter he starred in the US in Marvel Comics Presents: Excalibur and Excalibur (a British X-Men). The last Excalibur 4-part mini-series ended with Braddock being made king of the multiverse!

Planet of the Apes weekly 1-123 (becomes POTA with Dracula Lives! from 88)
Mighty World of Marvel & POTA 231-246
