If I google my postcode one of those arrows appears on the map pointing at my block. I assume Hermes drivers can use this wheeze?

Both items due to be delivered today from Maidstone depot. The Whoopees have arrived but no sign of Whizzer and Chips.
Have your Whoopees turned up?
No it's just the way I'm standing.

Picked up a full run of Bullet part from #2, also including all the joint warlord issues. Guess I better get a #1 from somewhere...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Someone was selling Warlord 1 with free gift on eBay a couple of weeks ago but it went unsold. They may have relisted it. I have the first issue and free gift, maybe three or four copies. In storage.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
On my 1000th post on this forum, I've managed to fill another gap with Starblazer #265. Only #273 needed for the set!
I picked up another couple of Tiger Holiday Specials from 1979 & 1983.
Captain Britain Summer Special 1979
Boy Detective #1 (One shot) - T&P - 1952
Fight Comics #1 - Trent - 1960(?) - a better looking copy than the one I had.
I saw those and was really tempted but I thought I was being a little excessive seeing as I was only buying them to get my hands on issues 143, 144 & 147 which I need for the set! I'll check to see if I have a spare #1 but I'm pretty sure I sold it last year. I'll email you if I still have it.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
It's an interesting conundrum, isn't it, when you need to decide whether to spend a large sum to complete a run you have been working steadily towards for years, or even just to get that bit closer to a complete run, when there are other factors which need to be taken into consideration, like a wife for example, food for the children, the steadily-building holiday fund. We've all been there. Pragmatism did not always rule in my case, I have to say!Adam Eterno wrote:I saw those and was really tempted but I thought I was being a little excessive seeing as I was only buying them to get my hands on issues 143, 144 & 147 which I need for the set!

Yea I was umming and arring about them tbh, I told the guy to hold off selling to me in case he got a better offer as mine was based on him sending them rather than me collecting, but after a couple of days he came back to me and accepted.Adam Eterno wrote:On my 1000th post on this forum, I've managed to fill another gap with Starblazer #265. They're not particularly rare, but as with any run over a few years in length getting the full set (or very nearly) in one go is worth it. The additional combined Warlord issues kind of swung it as I never had those when they came out.
Nw about the #1 if you don't have it, it turns up fairly frequently (there's 2 listed right now - not very nice condition though so I'll hold off on those), so I'll just pick it up when a suitable copy rears its head.
You must have a cracking T&P collection by now, always fun to collect those as they're rare enough to make it interesting but not too expensive to make it prohibitive.

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Agreed, I've been waiting a LONG time for a single copy of a common seventies Topper to complete a year, and every time I see it its always within a bundle of others which makes it too pricey and I don't want the other issues, I've actually got a bit bloody minded about it now so am determined to only get it when I see it at the right price...Phoenix wrote:It's an interesting conundrum, isn't it, when you need to decide whether to spend a large sum to complete a run you have been working steadily towards for years, or even just to get that bit closer to a complete run, when there are other factors which need to be taken into consideration, like a wife for example, food for the children, the steadily-building holiday fund. An issue of Red Dagger plus a random selection of Battle PLs from the 1960s.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!
