Re: What comics did you buy today?
Purchases wise I haven’t really bought much, I have picked up:
Large amount of 1951 Beanos
1st Shiver and Shake Christmas holiday special
Mandrake the Magician #1 pub by Miller, which I’ve never had before so that’s fun
All the free gifts that go with that run of Rocket from 1923, so I’m going to get them rebound with a free gift section too
As an aside if anyone is collecting Misty, I’ve just listed a very fine, near on full run on eBay at £7.99 each, if anyone buys more than one I’ll refund you 25% of the total purchase price if you mention comicsuk and your forum name. The #1 #2 and #3 are more expensive but I’ll do the discount on those too.

Theres a Redskins on the Warpath booklet on Amazon, might be the right one, but I wouldn't pay that much for it!

I can’t seem to download the picture off eBay currently and I’m out but here’s the image from Amazon which is the same. Have you got the other free gift of a song book yet?koollectablz wrote:Adam Eterno wrote: Can we get a pic of the half a million redskins on the warpath? I’m after that myself but can only ever find the one given away with one of the big five rather than Wild West Weekly.

Yea I have the song book.
I think the one on amazon is the one that was issued with the wizard?. That’s the one that shows up fairly commonly. But then again maybe I’ve getting confuddled...
I really should get a copy of Derek’s book...

That is definitely the Wild West Weekly free gift. I obtained it years ago in a box of what we're meant to be exclusively Thomson free gifts. So the confusion is nothing new.

FREE GIFTS IN THE BIG FIVE was printed for me in 2005, koollectablz, by D.C. Thomsons themselves, and they had the 250 copies bound for me by Hay Binders in Newcastle upon Tyne. I have just sixteen copies left in mint condition. There are, of course, a handful of others in various rooms of my house as reference copies, and it is possible that Border Bookshop in Todmorden may still have a copy or two in stock, although I can't verify that as I used to be able to before Carole Collinge sold the shop, as I haven't been back there since. The price on the rear cover is £30, which I imagine Border would charge you, but for a year or so I've been selling them for £25. If, after due consideration, you would like a copy at the reduced price, please feel free to PM me.koollectablz wrote:I really should get a copy of Derek’s book...

Bought another of my wanted issues with the final issue of Plug (plus an additional three issues)
I hope nothing else comes up for the next month or so (but with my luck, it will)

Some very elusive Picture Libraries from the 60s:
Lion Picture Library #1 - IPC - 1963 (+ 3 others)
Lone Rider Picture Library #1 - IPC - 1961
Super Adventure Picture Library #1 - Alex White - 1968
I also picked up 2 more Jag comics from 1968. It will be a very long process getting this complete set!

Re: What comics did you buy today?
I didn't buy any comics last night but I did get a few signed by Cam and Ian Kennedy at the Cam Kennedy masterclass in Dundee.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!
