Yes Sue that is the comic I am after.
There exists an earlier comic with the same title and contents but i like this cover much better.
Can you buy it for me?
I can mail you the money by PayPal .
If you can send me your PayPal address/e-mail address in a private message.
Although i have not slightest notion how to send a private message on this site i can surely accept such a message.
For another Australian lady has mailed me a couple of private messages.
Thank you very much & best wishes, Johan

Hi folks
The site threw my reply away.
Recently i found a decent comic adaptation of Peter Pan in France: "Peter Pan : Le Lagon aux Sirenes".
You must know i am rather suspicious of comic versions of Peter Pan outside the Disney or Fox canon.
Because these versions often portray a Peter in contradiction with sir James Barrie's original.
Which demands a fairly cruel but faintly asexual Never(-never)land.
However this adaptation , drawn by Danard and Pierre and written by Riviere, i liked a lot..
It has this "magic realism" quality, reminding me of Rivette's fantasy movies.
And it appears to be a moderate success, being translated into several languages.
If i am not mistaken an English versions exists as well, "Peter Pan at Mermaids' Lagoon" with a radically different cover with two mermaids.
Unfortunately i can not locate an English copy.
So a scan of my own French copy and a sample of its art has to doi.
Nevertheless i am very puzzled. A sequel was announced but never happened..
best, J.

Hi folks
Two messages from Neverland.
1) I bought the Italian version of the "Fantasyland" story.
There the colours on Peter Pan are weird too: green cap, blue leggings, red top and almost fair hair.
Unfortunately no scan of Peter was available.
Sooner or later i will buy the original and see what is the matter.
2) I also bought all 26 issues of "Mickey Mouse Weekly"with "The Mystery of Joshua Slogg".
It is a lighthearted very British tale but plays in a timeless Edwardian world, the real world, not Neverland.
and i also enjoy some other features:
"Mickey's The Hungry Ghost Mystery".
"The Walrus and the Carpenter" which i knew from "The Wonderful World of Disney", "Disneyland"'s short-lived sister-mag
"Beaver Valley", "Old California" by Barks, both of which i knew from the Belgian "Mickey Magazine" i read as a kid
and the often weird Goofy gags, reprinted from newspapers?
best wishes, J.

Hi Sue
A great many thanks.
Hoping to hear from you again.
Meanwhile i located another fair-haired Peter Pan.
However, another card from the same series portrays Peter with the usual orange hair.
So it is probably a mistake.
These are numbered Swedish cards, from bubble gum i think.
Best wishes, J.

Jehan, I tried to send you a PM, but it hasn't worked. Could you send me a message with the address to post the Peter Pan Mickey to?

Hi Sue
I have the same problems with PM on this website.
My physical address is :
Johan Louis de Jong
Comeniusstraat 19
1085 BH Amsterdam
the Netherlands.
My email address is jeandesylvan at the Google Company.
The grandmother of my grandmother was called Jeanne von Sylvan i think.
I have calcutated she must have been a child of French emigrées fleeing the Revolution.
She came from the Alsace.
To make visual my appreciation i will try to post a scan.
A great many thanks, Johan

Hi
There were a couple of UK "Disneyland" issues available but none with a Peter Pan cover.
Nevertheless, "Disneyland" also appeared in Germany, the Netherlands and America.
In the US it was distributed by Fawcett
I have a few of these, bought in an American bookstore over here, long ago.
And i will try to post a cover of one.
Just want to say how much i like you, fellow fans.
Best, Johan

Hi folks
I managed to buy the British " Peter Pan Treasure Chest".
It is a bit battered and rather expensive.
However, because it is so rare i took a plunge - into the Neversee.
I hope to enclose more scans when it arrives.
Also i am not sure which stories are in this UK edition but let it be a surprise.
Best, Johan

Hi folks
As promised i am posting a scan from the UK "Peter Pan Treasure Chest".
To my utter surprise the lead story drawn by Al Hubbard from the original Dell edition was not in it.
So it contains only stories not taken from the Peter Pan movie but with independent storylines.
This mag is not as battered as the scan appears to be showing.
Apparently the spots appear more pronounced on the scan.
Besides, i am not a condition freak.
I am the kind of collector who actually reads his comics.
Best wishes, Johan

Hi folks
The scan from the UK "Peter Pan treasure Chest" was taken from "Captain Hook and the Buried Treasure".
It is nice to see the Darling children in their dayclothes as well as the parents.
However, the boys go on treasure hunting while Wendy stays home, that is the rented cottage.
And the story appears to be playing in our world, of the Edwardian Age, not in Neverland.
Furthermore the storyline is borrowed from an ancient comic, drawn by Carl Barks:
"Donald Duck Finds Pirate Gold"of 1942.
Yet i see similarities with the Joshua Slogg story of the UK "Mickey Mouse Weekly".
So i suspect the British artist of "MMW" must have read the story of the "PP Treasure Chest" and gave it a whole new twist..
Best, J.

Hi folks
Hallo Sue. Your comic reached me safely.
Thank you so very much!
Now i can read this favourite story in an attractive mag.
And not in the battered original or the French editions which are redrawn and badly coloured.
Can i do something in return? Please?
I would like at least to pay you for the postage.
In case you have PayPal your e-mail address will suffice.
Meanwhile i hope to post a third scan from the buried treasure story referred to earlier..
Also i would like to thank Phil as well for pointing out the existence of the UK edition of "P P Treasure Chest".
Because i did not even knew it existed. No mention of it in the inducks database..
Best wishes, Johan

Hi Sue
Of course i can help you with Eppo.
Wow, can you read Dutch?
But please remember i am a-typical Dutch.
Because my ancestors mainly came from four different European countries.
And my favourite comic books are the American Gold Key comics and the Belgian "Mickey Magazine".
I am posting a link to the only good website for obtaining Dutch comic books.
Alas, this website is so complicated even I have problems with it.
Choose the comics you need and i will buy them for you.
And send them to Australia.
I already have your address.
Best wishes, Johan
