MY COMIC... BRITISH POWER:1957

Post by JT Mirana »

I can't remember if I mentioned here that I'm working toward publishing my own comic about British superheroes in the 1950s, but that's the plan. Anyway, this week I got the first layout drawings from my amazing artist, Gerry Dolan - formerly of Marvel's Dr Who strip.

I squeaked with excitement when I saw them!

Hope you all don't mind this shameless self-promotion post.

Nice layouts/thumbnails, JT---I delve into such media myself and I would love to see your first finished pencils and inkings of this commissioned work.

Does the artist intend adding any digital colouring, or will everything be traditional [both approaches are valid]?

Good luck. And if it is of any help, CB+ has a shameless self promotion section. Have a look here:-

There is a "Please Read" bit which is only a few lines - hardly any rules or requirements. As we have a huge and growing user base, it wont do any harm to post your new venture there. No guarantees of any kind but it will help spread your message.
Apart from that, any clues as to which heroes you plan on using? New inventions, originals from the period or disguised versions of same?

Thanks for that link Paw, very handy indeed!

As to my heroes, I've got Vulcan, Stonehenge, Lady Godiva and The Green Man as my core group, with others to be added in subsequent volumes over the many, many years the series will run...

As for villains, you can look forward to Jellybones, Sweet Fanny Adams, Daddy Long-Legs...

and the KGB, of course. Pesky Russians. :)

Terrible news. Gerry had a stroke last weekend and is in intensive care.
