Anybody read the latest Current Developements section of the site.It seems in Als enthusiasm to install I presume, the free second beta of Windows Vista that in trying to partition the drive,it went belly up and fried all his data.He also mentions his remote drive and backup dvd's getting deleted/corrupted.Any hackers/cum comic fans out there like to lend a hand in salvaging the data contact Al through the forum.
Al-from your msg I can ascertain a few things.
1-When you partition a hard all data gets deleted. This is widely known and well documented!
2-Also for your "remote drive"...I take it you mean an external usb drive..how that got deleted amazes me,unless you chose to partition that too.
3-As for your DVD's,they should also be tested after burning.
4-In future use flash devices, such as usb keys or SD cards(a little more expensive, but not as prone to corruption as optical discs.)
footnote-you did use the official beta download from Microsoft, didn't you?
conclusion-let's get the hackers in on this one or you may have to pay a data recovery service to get the data back...
hmm..I can hear the hackers putting down their copies of Victor now and rising to the challenge...
AL needs your help!
