Plenty of times I've seen people get caught up in an auction (done it myself) and bid way over the top for items.

After it ends a numbing sensation can settle in directly after and with it a huge wave of relief that I didn't actually win, in fact a fair few times I've been contacted after the auction by the seller offering it to me as a second chance (as the winning bidder didn't pay), I've always turned it down and felt glad to do so (its just stuff after all).

Once the person who will pay the very top amount for an item has one then its highly unusual to see another copy reach anywhere those heights again.

Good example is the two Buster #1's with gift just sold on ebay. Phil sold one for an astonishing price - £587.77. That then flushed out another in nigh on exactly the same condition which went for £205. Nearly £400 difference...

Same with the pulped Action, once the people who desperately want one have it, the market for selling it at huge money just disappears and the price settles down to realistic market value.

On Flog It! last week a woman brought along a Royal Doulton figurine her husband had picked up for a dustbin lid at a boot fair (£1). The expert valued it at £200 - £300. When it went to auction it sold for £4250. 00.

Watching Get Smart right now on Forces TV. One of my favourite shows from childhood. I wad mad about secret agents in the sixties.

Yup, I thought I'd go for those, few very difficult ones in the pics. When they arrive I'll list exactly what they are and if people here want them then I'm happy to make them available.

Good buy on the Buster, I would have bid but I think that's its true value. Very nice copy.

I didn't have the free gift for Buster #1 which is what I was after.

It could be fun on the free gifts matching them to the comics. I was trying to do it on the seller's very dodgy pictures. I think I saw the glider plane from Hornet #1 which I definitely need. I think you've got a really good deal there on so many free gifts.

Who wants to bid on third and second last issues of the Beezer and Topper?

A £20 starting bid, though ;)

Yay! one of my eBay listings is finally in this thread
I tend to start off high and reduce until it sells but this is very similar to the price I originally bought them at as I had to wait years for them to come on ebay (literally).

Insane price. I bought the first two years of Tammy recently for less than a pound an issue in total.

Lew! Some `sellers` just hope that some buyers have more money than sense! There is a seller now on E.bay who has been putting up a 1960s `Beezer` with `Spinner` gift that he's been putting on for at least three years now!! He's reduced price (to £280) from its £400 plus when first put there-but he is still Thomistic I think. Mind you- I`m first to admit that i've paid rather high for some `Sparky` free gifts in the past.

I know the Odhams comics are popular currently but this is silly! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FANTASTIC-Co ... Swaq1Z4oHM

It does look to be in nice condition though, but I'm skeptical that it's been in a plastic sleeve since 1967 as claimed.
