It's not going to be available in newsagents. It's comic shops only. Try online if you have trouble getting a copy:

Ordered my copy from eBay. :)
Reading comics since 1970. My Current Regulars are: 2000 AD (1977-), Judge Dredd Megazine (1990-), Spaceship Away (2003-), Commando (2013-), Monster Fun (2022-), Deadpool and Wolverine (2023-), Quantum (2023-).

I'm probably preaching to the choir here, but Garth Ennis has written a lot of war comics, most notably the series War Stories (originally for DC, with those stories recently being reprinted in two volumes, now an ongoing series at Avatar) and the series Battlefields, volumes 1 and 3 of which contain his two Night Witches stories about Russian women pilots in WWII, which were inspired by the female Russian pilot in Johnny Red.

Ennis has written other war comics but the above series, along with a Battler Britton series he wrote a few years ago, are the ones most directly influenced by his childhood reading of Battle Picture Weekly and various war pocket comics.

Got my copy, read it, loved it. I particularly liked the 'real world' information that was included for anyone who may not be familiar with the history of the Russian campaigns in WWII.

Very much looking forward to Issue #2
