Is this a first for a comic

Post by big bad bri »

i just had a weird thought. or has this already being discussed on here before.
It was the Battle merger which caused Eagle to absorb its original self. The lineage goes like this:
Eagle (1950) > Lion and Eagle (1969) > Valiant and Lion (1974) > Battle Picture Weekly and Valiant (1976) > Eagle and Battle (1988)

Nope it isn't a first.

DC Thomson's The Wizard was the same.

Originally it came out in 1922 and merged with Rover to become Rover and Wizard (naturally).

Then in 1970, The Wizard was relaunched and this time was on the winning side of its merger with Rover in 1973 (Wizard and Rover).
Reading comics since 1970. My Current Regulars are: 2000 AD (1977-), Judge Dredd Megazine (1990-), Spaceship Away (2003-), Commando (2013-), Monster Fun (2022-), Deadpool and Wolverine (2023-), Quantum (2023-).
