Where did all the free gifts go?

Is it me or has the number of British comics from pre-1980 with gifts being sold on eBay declined over the past few years? I'm sure when I started collecting in 2008 there were all sorts of good things on every week, including issues of 2000AD no. 1, 2, 3 quote often, and being a complete nerd I even made a note of what you could get. in April 2010 you could have had:
Action no. 1 with gift
Action no. 2 with gift
Wham! fireworks number
Cheeky no. 1 with gift
Smash! no. 1
Spider-Man Comics Weekly no. 1
gift from Spider-Man Comics Weekly no. 2
This was excluding Phil Comics auctions (if there was one that month). Now, where did all these good things go? Or did they?
