so is this just for business' or does ebay pay the difference on a private seller who my not want to offer a discount.

Quidco are also offering an additional 5% off Ebay buys currently as well

Thinking about this, this must have cost eBay quite a bit. I sold 4 items (which were all BIN that have been listed for well over two weeks) within the 6 hour time period that eBay will have to cover the 20% discount, which on those items is £120.
Plus all of mine were BINs that I'd listed as part of the usual 100 items free to list but also on the maximum £1 FVF weekend, so its not as if they even got their usual cut.
So for me eBay made a healthy loss of £114.
Be interesting to know what the average discount was and how many items were sold using it overall.
