The original 6 week 9ie 12 page) Jasper run in 1965 Wham! coincided with the reduction in pagination from 24 to 20 (and price increase from 6d to 7d) and loss of colour pages apart from the front - the first 2 in the larger issues, and the last 4 in the smaller - other strips took turns in being omitted from the comic, to return once Jasper had gone. A couple of schoolfriends understandably gave up on Wham at this point, and I followed not long after, sticking with Eagle.
