The Daily Dredds
The Daily Dredds, a collected book of all the Saturday Judge Dredd strips that appeared in the Daily Star from 1981 to 1986 is about to be released (or has been, not sure of the release date) and is in hardback. Though reprinted in various forms, there's never been a whose sale collection of every story. Recommended retail price is £30. A bit steep, I initially thought. But there are 350 pages to go at, I tried to convince myself. So, I went to ebay and, to my surprise, found that there are copies going for £16.90 plus free postage. Nearly half the price! Anyway, I've ordered it... from ebay, I hastily add. There is a special edition with a numbered bookplate and a free Ron Smith print going for £35 if ordered directly from 2000 ad online - only 250 copies available. I really contemplated this edition but demurred in the end after my visit to ebay.
Re: The Daily Dredds
Just checked - Nov. 20th is the release date.

Hi, David, just read your facebook post as regards Daily Dredd. The way I read it is that you were posted a free copy of the book prematurely in exchange for your offerings of various copies of the Dredd strips. If so, then I find that a really nice touch from Rebellion. Congratulations

Spot on Geoff, the Rebellion people are a decent crowd. Very committed on getting the more obscure material out,

Ordered my copy last week and just waiting for it to arrive.

I ordered mine Nov. 12th and come Dec. 12th, I still had no delivery. I sent an email to 2000 ad online and received a reply that, due to a backlog, it would be issued within 2-3 days. It was... and I missed the delivery while walking my dog I have to wait for the second delivery on Monday now, but I know it's coming now
Re: The Daily Dredds
Finally received it yesterday. I think I will cosy up with this on New Year's Eve along with a case of Strongbow. I'm getting old now; the days of going out, getting drunk and kissing anyone within groping distance are fading fast. I'll start to worry when a cup of cocoa substitutes the cider.

Well, been spending the last couple of days reading the book. A great read.

Re: The Daily Dredds
I liked the story that satirized the 1958 sci-fi horror THE FLY that ends with dredd arresting a fly-headed perp.
Re: The Daily Dredds
second volume is expected next year. To my shame, I still haven't read the first one I purchased. Yet, i'll be ready to buy the next one. So many things I've yet to read and so little time. I'll get there in the end... hopefully

Re: The Daily Dredds
I have Rock Power magazine number 1 from 1991 and in it there is a six page Judge Dredd strip in full colour. written by Jon Wagner and Alan Grant and drawn by Simon Bisley. Does anyone know if this was exclusive to Rock Power magazine and how long it lasted?
Re: The Daily Dredds
It ran for quite some time. Selected strips were later reprinted as Heavy Metal Dredd in the Megazine.
Re: The Daily Dredds
I believe they were all reprinted in the Heavy Metal Judge Dredd graphic novel (I have it somewehere) and wasn't Simon Bisley the main artist?
