Gordon Bell has died..

Post by Peter Gray »

Cameron Clark has left a new comment on your post "Gordon Bell is great at facial expressions in his ...":

Sorry to say that Gordon passed away on Thursday 13th Feb. Fanatic that he was, he was working on new cartoons up until a few days before his death, and even managed a last cartoon while lying in bed a few hours before his death. He will be sorely missed.

I loved his work on Spoofer and Pup Parade..Peter

I liked his style. It was nice and gentle. I put him alongside Bill Ritchie as having a nice innocent style of drawing. Appealing to children.

That is a shame. I always enjoyed Gordon's work. May those he left behind know that we are thinking of them.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!

There was an obituary in yesterday's Courier, with a photo of Mr.Bell at his drawing board:

I really liked his work. R.I.P.

I've posted a short tribute on my blog, accompanied by some classic pages of his:

Gordons' work sure imprinted on my childhood memories: he was extremely prolific and a great sense of slapstick/cuteness.

His place in UK Comics History is rightly assured.
