Fred Kida RIP

Post by philcom55 »

Just heard that the American artist Fred Kida passed away last week at the grand old age of 93. Kida was, of course, best known for drawing the immensely-popular adventures of Airboy during the 1940s and 1950s, beginning in Hillman's Air Fighters Comics no.10 and continuing in his own comic book. However, even though there was a British edition of Airboy at one time, Fred's greatest claim to fame on this side of the Atlantic is probably as Herb Trimpe's inker on the first 23 issues of Marvel UK's Captain Britain during the 1970s!
