RIP Steve Dillon

Post by Digifiend »

Steve Dillon has died. He was the current Punisher artist for Marvel and contributed to early issues of Doctor Who Weekly, including Abslom Daak. He's also worked for 2000AD.

just checked---he is/was slightly younger than me,

I knew he got into comics at an early age.

Clearly, there is a lot about this on the 2000 AD site:

"...I knew he got into comics at an early age..."

I'll say. He was just sixteen when he did his first professional work, for Hulk Comic, and even before that he'd done fanzine work that was already very accomplished. A very sad loss.

yes David: turning pro at age 16 is impressive by any standards: even Dudley Watkins started at a relatively advanced age of 18!

This is all over my facebook feed. It is depressing as hell. I have tried to cheer myself up with my Ian Kennedy article but I am struggling.
I started to say something sensible but my parents took over my brain!
