I sure love The Cloak.a very underground comic style..and love his crowd scenes..
also it sure as a strange seel about it..
the hero having no nose sure makes it strange.. :)

You're right Peter. Mike was indeed influenced by the underground culture, and also by C.C. Beck and Elzie Segar. That's one thing that made The Cloak stand out and become so popular I think; the fact that it was influenced by other sources than the traditional Roy Wilson / Reg Parlett / Leo Baxendale school of thought.

I was looking at those text messages in Radio Fun ..I wondered if Petuls Clark wrote it..now I know..it was a bit naughty to do that..Dick Emery never wrote in Buster either..shame...probably couldn't do that today..

Mike Higgs was at one of the London Comic Marts recently - I just missed him as had to leave.
