At the moment, I am currently having a daily tribute to the Beano's 75th anniversary (which started on Monday)

at approximately 11:00 BST, part three will go online, and will look at an issue from 67 years ago

Thanks for linking to my comic libraries page, but you got my surname wrong. It's Spiring, not Spring.

Online now, is part one of my weekly look at some very early British comics from the turn of the last century right up until the 1930's

I look at an issue of the Jester and Wonder as well as a later era issue of the Jester by the Amalgamated Press here.

rats!

overnight, my database somehow got corrupted, which meant I could no longer log on to my website.

I had to do a full re-installation of Wordpress and my last backup (which meant I lost everything after my tribute to Winker Watson earlier this month.

In due course, I'll try and reconstruct the posts I made after this date.

It's happened again! :x :x :x

Anyone who is using WordPress will know about the auto-update feature that was implemented in V3.7 of the software.

Unfortunately, it also updates beta versions, and as a result I have no website.

For the time being, I am temporarily suspending the Comics Archive until the next stable version comes out, or failing that, I will start again from scratch using other blogging software.

Good. Was that link of any help, or had you already figured it out anyway?

For some reason it's no longer possible to post responses to posts from before March 1st. :?

I wanted to point out that while AndyB says that Sid's Snake made "the odd appearance" in Buster, you actually have him down on an earlier post as having appeared from 1990 to 1999 - he survived the merger of W&C into Buster and lasted until the end. http://comics.brucelaing.id.au/lacey05/

Sorry about that, Digifiend.

I do close posts more than a month old to stop spam being placed, but I accidentally closed all of February's comments a bit early. I'll reopen the comments again. :)
