How can any comic fan spell it DC Thompson?

...Awww, it took me ages to remember whether to 'P' or not to 'P' - and I still have to look up the spelling of Jerry Siegel! For all his bloopers I think the blogger has done a pretty decent job of showcasing those old strips. Hopefully he'll learn by his mistakes - as we all had to.

Yes, there are mistakes and while it's the right thing to correct them (that's how we learn after all) I believe it's always good to do it with politeness and, perhaps, a sense of humour. People are showing an interest and that can only be a good thing. Some of the excellent contributors on this forum might want to consider submitting some small articles or links to pertinent stuff an their own blogs. It all helps to spread the word and progress the hobby.

This does presuppose that the people you are referring to, Paw, actually have a blog in the first place. There are a lot of knowledgeable contributors to these forums, but I doubt whether more than a handful would have sufficient time or even the inclination to go to such trouble, however laudable the aim.

I have a bit more time, being retired and I still find it difficult to keep up contributions to the few forums I follow. However, there are some excellent blogs maintained by folk on this forum and, as you point out, such a lot of knowledge and now that I've pointed some of them to articles on a site that they have found wanting in a few small ways, my suggestion wasn't really that naive. Even just a link to something on someone's blog can be enough to interest others and perhaps provoke discussion here. You still have to have the time to even read other sites, mind.
I don't want to complain about lack of knowledge of British comics on another's part without trying to share some of my enthusiasm with them. In the nicest possible way, of course.
