Discuss all the girls comics that have appeared over the years. Excellent titles like Bunty, Misty, Spellbound, Tammy and June, amongst many others, can all be remembered here.
Thanks Bigwords - quite right not to have lists of e-mails...
This technophobe has overcome the communication gremlins and is back on track.
And back on track to LLD discussion:
It's ironic that "Wee Sue" was first drawn to John Richardson, and its final artist in 1981-ish was none other than Rob MacGillivray (in what I think was his final work for IPC - he was now very bust at DCT).

If you count Wee Sue's appearances in Old Friends during the Tammy & Jinty merger, her last artist was John Johnston.
Helsbels: thanks for the uploads of LLD. Interesting that Lucky started off with different hair and was shy person who couldn't afford much. And it looks like Tina had different hair as well. So Lucky's father is actually dead? Then he couldn't return. So Mrs Preek was the first LLD nemesis. Wonder how Tina fixed her in part 3?

It's fascinating to see how much Robert MacGillivray's interpretation of the characters evolved from their first appearances (though I've noticed that most well-loved creations from Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck to Batman changed in a similar way over time as their artists became more comfortable with them).
Is interesting how appearances evolved - Tina does seem to have more dollish hair & facial appearance.
Lucky transformed into maturer look the following year - was by July 1964. Perhaps Tina inspired & made her more confident. In some ways the matured Lucky created possiblilites ie that she was a little old for playing with a doll, perhaps?
Answered question on what became of Lucky's father.
Interesting that Tina seems to remember games they played before she was brought to life - suggesting that all dolls are sentient in the world of LLD, even though they can't move or communicate (rather like Katy-Jane in fact).
Also, it's noticeable that Tina doesn't take long to dump that tacky ballet dress and replace it with a much more practical outfit - in spite of the fact that it's supposed to be Lucky's favourite!
And I meant Rob MacG was busy at DCT, not bust by 1981 (Trixie's Treasure Chest etc - perhaps his first long running regular strip since LLD & Jeanie & her Uncle Meanie got cancelled in 1974).
It's spooky to think that LLD is close to its 50th anniversary of its first appearance.
That's one week older than Doctor Who! (SF w/e 23/11/63 - LLD's 2nd ever episode - same day Dr Who first aired - 1 day after Kennedy assassination & Harry Worth on that Friday evening).
I recently watched a documentary on BBC4 about Lionel Bart, where it mentions Bart gor the idea for Cliff's 1959 hit Livin' Doll from an advert in the Sunday Pictorial which advertised the new "Darling Doll" where she Kneels, walks, sits & sings (in a child like voice).
The hand drawn doll pictured does look very early Tina esque.
Wonder if Rob MacGillivray also saw ad or read abour Bart's inspiration & got his own ideas?
