I think stories could have been influenced from a lot of places.
The Girl form D.O.R.S.E.T. and The Girls from N.O.O.D.L.E.S. must have been inspired by The Man from U.N.C.L.E. , The Flights of Flopear similar to Doctor Who.
But thinking of books, I think a lot of boarding school stories were probably inspired by Enid Blyton or Eleanor Brent Dyer books.
There were also updated fairy tale stories like Cinderella Jones.
EDIT
The Countess of Monte Cristo from Judy

Re: Bunty Manga
It may be stretching a point, but I wonder if Art Spiegelman's "Maus" was an inspiration for "The White Mouse" from Emma.
Update: looks like not - the latter was published before the former.

Re: Bunty Manga
Thank you for those story titles. Keep 'em coming, please. There must be more.
Re: Bunty Manga
There was "Goldilocks and the Three Barrs". Mandy, I think. And "Sleeping Beauty from the Stars" from Mandy.
Re: Bunty Manga
There may also be stories whose title conceals their source more successfully.
Re: Bunty Manga
Stories like The Comp and School's Out! were certainly inspired by Grange Hill.
Re: Bunty Manga
Was Grange Hill shown on NZ television from the beginning of series one to the end of the final series?Tammyfan wrote:Stories like The Comp and School's Out! were certainly inspired by Grange Hill.

Don't know. It was screened in NZ, but I don't know for how many seasons.Phoenix wrote:Was Grange Hill shown on NZ television from the beginning of series one to the end of the final series?Tammyfan wrote:Stories like The Comp and School's Out! were certainly inspired by Grange Hill.
