The Best Of Roy Of The Rovers 1980s

Post by BlakeEdmonds »

I got my copy of the Titan Books special on Thursday morning and started reading it later that night. The stories begin from September 1980 and finish near the end of the '81/'82 season.

Without a doubt, David Sque was the best artist and I just love the fact ROTR was in colour. So far, what I have read has been good - Melchester Rovers have had a poor start to the season with Roy selling two players and he has to come up with a solution to his problems, or else.

I remember back in 1990 finding some Roy Of The Rovers issues in my garage from '82 and '83. I was very excited, as I'd read some classic Roy stories in the monthlies.

There's even a reference to the Safest Hands In Soccer in one of the Best Of ROTR stories when someone suggests Roy make a bid for ace Scottish International 'keeper Gordon Stewart.
