But there's a three week gap between the two. Something else bumped Gums out.

Other possibilities could be that as Jaws had come out years before (1975, wasn't it) sharks were seen as "old hat" by then? Or maybe it was because Gums was from Monster Fun and they wanted to quietly shuffle away the carry-overs from one merger before doing another!

It was only a year or so after Jaws 3-D! But Gums had had a good long run by then, and it wasn't necessarily a concept you could get endless mileage out of.

I never thought School Fun was a great idea - were kids really likely to want a comic entirely dedicated to school?
