I'm just guessing. 100 most important (are there 100 that are that important?) is a good subject. Maybe best for an article, then we can comment upon it.

No, it is meant to be the best 100 in terms of quality from the output of comics over the last hundred or so years from The Amalgamated Press. Some of them may well be the favourites of some members, but the favouritism factor has to be purely incidental. I am, therefore, in agreement with Lew. You are, however, quite right, starscape, to wonder whether there are as many as 100, although that would probably not be an issue in the Top 100 Adventure Characters thread.starscape wrote:Isn't it supposed to be the top 100 favourites of the Comics UK forum members?

I wonder why 'Orrible 'Ole was called that if it wasn't so 'orrible? Maybe they couldn't think of a different title?

Could Store Wars be another possibility?
Re: the Top 100 humour characters...UPDATED sorry;0)
Yes, as long as it's the original series drawn by Doug Goodwin and Jim Watson - the revival drawn by Jimmy Hansen wasn't as strongly written.
I will have trouble narrowing this down. Let's try a few to begin with, strictly in no particular order:
Strawbelly
Joker
Junior Rotter
Steve Ford (Buytonic Boy)
Super Store!
Strange Hill
Paddywack
Bumpkin Billionaires
The Park
Ivor Lott and Tony Broke
I reserve the right to change the above (or even add to)

Are Super Store! and The Park humour characters or merely story titles in the wrong list?AndyB wrote:I will have trouble narrowing this down. Let's try a few to begin with, strictly in no particular order:

As are of course the Bumpkin Billionaires... the problem is that with ensemble casts, it's difficult to narrow down to one character.

I've just thought of a few other suggestions I've not yet seen mentioned (sorry if I do repeat by mistake):
Ad Lad
Wear Em Old Wilf
The Incredible Sulk
Willy Worry
Money Talks
Tiny Tycoon
Go And Find Uncle Bill
Hee Gee & His Nag
Sammy Shrink
Lazy Bones
Lucky Dick
Fun Scare/Scare Fair? (from Mosnter Fun set in a fairground)
And 'Orrible 'Ole was horrible playing tricks on people - though some deserved it!

I thought it was Wear 'em out Wilf. But thanks for the info about Orrible Ole.
Re: the Top 100 humour characters...UPDATED sorry;0)
Sorry typing error. Thanks for pointing out. I meant:
Wear 'Em Out Wilf
And it was:
Fun Fear
That I was trying to think of/name.

Just thought of a few more suggestions:
Toy Boy
Happy Families
The Toffs & The Toughs*
Barney Bluffer
Val's Vanishing Cream
Gums
Pete's Pimples
Why Dad Why?
* later Smarty's Toffs & Tatty's Toughs (merger with Smarty Pants & Tatty Ed Strip). Wasn't as good.

Same problem as me, David - too many strips with multiple characters
