I was looking through the gallery pondering whether to try and start uploading covers not on there and i came across a comic called cracker dated 25 oct 69.it was an IPC title never released.does anyone know why it was never released?did any of the stories inside make it to other comics etc?

Nice to see your question on this as I own the art for the front cover. It's believed that this may have been a proposed title, losing out to Whizzer & Chips which was released instead in October 1969. With no mention of a free gift on the cover and seemingly no other pages it seems that it wasn't very far along the development route.

It's a lovely piece of art though isn't it and sits very nicely with the rest of my collection.

I'm pleased that cover went to a good home, Shiner. There were many 'dummy' comics produced over the years. Some we know about, some we don't, and it's a fair bet that a lot of the art for those was destroyed so we'll never know. It's fortunate that the Cracker cover survived.

That Cracker Kids art reminds me of early Banana Bunch and Bash Street Kids. Maybe too similar, hence it not getting retitled and used elsewhere?
