Calling All Starkids!

An announcement! The Starscape forum is now being held at the Comics UK Forum. For those not in the know, Comics UK is a website devoted to British comics through the years, containing covers, synopses, stories and all manner of goodies, plus a thriving fan base. It's the natural home for the Valiant for the 21st Century. Also, inspired by Stan's Soapbox - Starscape Says...is the Starchief's views of the world, whether that's politics or Saturday morning tv. See what you think and leave a comment if you agree, disagree or if you'd like to see something else.

We've got a great new couple of stories, perfect for the horror fan. It's the start of the much-heralded 'zombies in the wild west' story, Dead! Some really terrfic art there by the one and only Lee O'Connor from a script by 2000AD Droid Gary Simpson. Let me know what you think of this story at the Starscape forum. We think this one's a classic! Almost as classic as Hook Jaw! See the latest installment from the big fish below.

For those who can't get enough horror, we've got a Godzilla inspired story, featuring a rampaging dinosaur in the city. Written and drawn by top Argentian creator, Carlos Devizia, we think you'll also adore a preview of his forthcoming Space 1999 take. See his poster in 20th Century TV, complete with script by Yours Truly.

There's more classic strips, including the ever so wonderful Arena from The Crunch. This is particularly for those who liked Damage Circus. In DC Classics, we represent the first DC appearance of my favourite villain, Black Adam, as he takes on the Big Red Cheese. And, you know, I like these old Fawcett characters so much, that the new US Golden Age box is reserved for Shazam! It's Hoppy, the Marvel Bunny (evil woodland creatures beware!).

For those who can't get enough heroes, Tim Youlden's provided us with some posters of Marvel action in DC/Marvel FanFiction. Tim is currently working on Gary Simpson's Ouija. A spot of Wargods of Atlantis shows us some great Kirby-inspired action.

Not exactly a superhero - more a spacehero - it's Dan Dare! Currently starring in his new Virgin comics line, we present a critique of his first 2000AD adventure v the Biogs! There's also a new Starbox for the up-coming For Valour line, which is on the lookout for artists and writers of traditional Brit comics, from Billy the Cat to Ball Boy, Union Jack Jackson to Judge Dredd!

In Starscape Stories there's a re-up of the first chapter of the Knights of Eternity featuring the origin of...the Eternal. Also, we've added articles from World War II newspapers in a new Starbox, Starpast: this month, a 1940s interpretation of Nostradamus!

We continue the Radar Men serial but also add the wonderful Crash Corrigan prog, Undersea Kingdom. In Fanfiction, take a trip with the Silver Surfer, whilst there's Lego capers with Spider-Man... Lest we forget, NOSFERATU!!!

It's a Winter Wonderland!

All FREE!!! Donations welcome.

Writers and artists always wanted!

Keep looking to the Stars,

Chris Smillie
