I have issue one - worth owt?
I have issue one of The Buster. No free gift, and it's slightly brown at the edges (and massive - who remembered that it started off as a tabloid?).
Is it worth anything more than sentimental value? I have no plans to sell it, but it'd be good to know if I should take it out of the budgie's cage just in case.

I have seen them go for over 50 quid on ebay if they are in nice condition. Darryl (Silver Acre) go a nice price for one recently. I forget how much, sorry.

We can go halves. You can have the bird as I have no interest in it & you said you'd have it, & I'll have the comic

How about we split the year up. I have the comic from Jan to Dec and you have it the rest of the year??Dizrythmia wrote:We can go halves. You can have the bird as I have no interest in it & you said you'd have it, & I'll have the comic
I note how Kev has stayed out of this argument!!!

I saw the LAST ever issue go for ?40 on ebay at the beginning of 2007, though some issues only ever get very small bids on ebay, probably the condition is important and if you still have the free gift, worth keeping for nostalgic reasons though.

BLOODY HELL.......I remember picking up the last-ever 'BUSTER', ----and there is absolutely no way I would have guessed it would be worth 40 quid in such a [relatively] short space of time............I seem to remember that I.P.C./Fleetway/Interchangeable Corporate Cartels, INC. kept the comic going just long enough to secure 21ST-CENTURY status.

It didn't quite make it into the 21st Century. The last issue came out in December 1999. Just five months short of its 40th anniversary!ISPYSHHHGUY wrote:BLOODY HELL.......I remember picking up the last-ever 'BUSTER', ----and there is absolutely no way I would have guessed it would be worth 40 quid in such a [relatively] short space of time............I seem to remember that I.P.C./Fleetway/Interchangeable Corporate Cartels, INC. kept the comic going just long enough to secure 21ST-CENTURY status.
Amazing that someone paid ?40 for it, considering it was all-reprint by then. (Except for the back page.)

I remember the first issue of Practical Performance Car going for ?5 when it was only a year old. Ok the original price was something over ?3 so it wasnt too impressive, but in 15 years?
I still have the stickers, too XD
