Due to Jetix rebranding as Disney XD on August 31st, Jetix Magazine is rebranding as Nitro! on September 3rd. It will now focus on kids entertainment in general and not just Jetix shows, as Disney will no longer be involved. I wouldn't be surprised if this means it loses the Sonic X comic strip. What it does mean is that Future Publishing have acquired a ready made rival to the likes of Toxic and Dandy Xtreme.

Re: Jetix magazine changes name and focus
Hmm, could be interesting. I don't know if Future Publishing have ever done a "comic" before? (In fact are they independent or just part of the Egmont / IPC etc empire?). Maybe somebody on some committee there will say "We're publishing a comic now? Why can't we make it like the comics i read when i was a kid in the 70's?" and then interesting things will happen.
OR it will stagger on a bit with rushed-out, poorly done content that's a shadow of it's former self and then die quietly without anybody even noticing.

Re: Jetix magazine changes name and focus
Technically, Future have been publishing a comic since Fox Kids Wickid launched in 2001. It changed name to Jetix at the same time as the TV channel. The difference is, Future have always had Disney's backing, and now they're going it alone. Nitro!'s future is going to be interesting, that's for sure.
Future by the way are a major publisher of specialist interest magazines. They publish the official Microsoft Windows Magazine, PC Gamer, PC Zone, SFX, Total Film, in fact too many to list, so look at Wikipedia, which has a good list, but not a complete one (Jetix has been omitted for a start, despite being mentioned elsewhere in the article): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Future_Publishing
