I've bought them all over the years but buy 15 of them regularly now to keep up with developments.tony ingram wrote:I think I am too, more or less-seven, on a regular basis.

I know you've said that you mainly (only?) buy children's comics for professional reasons these days Lew, but are there any comics on that list you buy for pleasure, rather than keeping up with developments?Lew Stringer wrote:I've bought them all over the years but buy 15 of them regularly now to keep up with developments.tony ingram wrote:I think I am too, more or less-seven, on a regular basis.

I must admit, as a fan, the titles on the list I buy veer towards the more adult(ish!) end -2000AD, Dredd, Viz, DWM etc - but I still pick up the occasional Beano/Dandy Xtreme just to see what's going on. Just bought my first Dandy Xtreme since the first few issues, lured by the Jamie Smart Desperate Dan mini-comic...

Re: What Comics Are Out There Now?
I still enjoy them, but I seriously doubt I'd be buying any if I wasn't in the biz as I think my interest would have waned years ago. I guess buying old comics (or reprints of them) doesn't fit my "keeping up with developments" comment but I don't think I'd even be enthusiastic about those if I wasn't looking at them from the perspective of an artist. Hard to say really. It's a bit of a "Turn Left" moment innit? (Doctor Who reference, not a political one. )PaulTwist wrote:I know you've said that you mainly (only?) buy children's comics for professional reasons these days Lew, but are there any comics on that list you buy for pleasure, rather than keeping up with developments?Lew Stringer wrote:I've bought them all over the years but buy 15 of them regularly now to keep up with developments.tony ingram wrote:I think I am too, more or less-seven, on a regular basis.

Re: What Comics Are Out There Now?
I see myself as a rough 12-percenter now that I am down to four regular comics.
Reading comics since 1970. My Current Regulars are: 2000 AD (1977-), Judge Dredd Megazine (1990-), Spaceship Away (2003-), Commando (2013-), Monster Fun (2022-), Deadpool and Wolverine (2023-), Quantum (2023-).

LOL. Mental block or what!!??
Don't worry, I am going to see if I can get back into my local primary school so that I can relearn simple arithmetic.
"In the meantime, SID, you have to remember that 1+1+1+1+1=5 and NOT 4."
