Hi all, new member here.
I'm searching for a War/Battle Picture Library story and another pocket library comic story (title as yet unknown). Is this forum the best place to ask about such things? I've been Googling for a couple of hours and can't find a dedicated War or Battle Picture Library forum. Should I post a couple of help! requests here or can someone direct me to a better resource?
Thanks,
Jim.

If you know the name of the story you could try searching for it on ebay. Likewise if you know the number search for "war XXXX" or "battle XXXX" under Books, Comics and Magazines. If it's not some "special" number like number 1 it might well be on there for next to nothing. Though the later it is the better your chances!

If you don't know the title, perhaps you can identify the artist who drew it - that way there'll be people who can list all the titles that artist drew. Failing that, do you have the title of any other title the artist did? If so you could post a scan of that artwork, then there'll be someone who can identify the artist and then.... the list of his titles .... etc
I think that's about all you can do if you don't have the title - or parhaps you could write a summary of the plot..... that's a longshot, though, but there might be somebody who'll recognise it.
Otherwise, browse every issue you see in second-hand sources.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've been keeping an eye on eBay, as advised, but have had no luck yet Unfortunately, I can only remember the stories involved (and am sure one of them was published in either the War or Battle Picture Library Series - with this one I have a vague memory of the front page). I have no recollection of the number, author or artist
I'd like to post details of the stories to see if anyone knows the issues. Would it be best to post them in this forum or the General Comics discussion?
Thanks!

Steve Holland of http://bearalley.blogspot.com/ has got to be a leading authority, as he's partially responsible for the collections. Try him.
