Trying to track down a comic strip.

Post by acyoung68 »

Hello,

I'm trying to track down a comic strip, can anyone help?
It appeared in the Scottish Daily Record in the 70s.
It was a sci-fi strip, set in the not too distant future, on Earth and in our Solar System.
The Earth had undergone some terrible calamity and human civilization had been almost wiped out.
Our heros were on a space-ship, called called Hope or Faith, and wandered the solar system.
The hero was called Lance, and his love interest was a female android.

Does this ring any bells with anyone? Finding the name, and any information on it would be great.

I'm new here, and I apologise if I have posed in the wrong place.

Thanks,

Andy

In fact, Lance was later retconned into being Hawke himself. The details are on the Jeff Hawke wikipedia page.

Re "...Lance was later retconned into being Hawke himself..."

My memory is that Lance was syndicated abroad as Jeff Hawke, with some minor art changes.

The magazine Jeff Hawke's Cosmos has been reprinting the Hawke strip for the last few years. Starting soon (next year sometime, I think) they're going to be reprinting the Hawke version of Lance McLane -- you can find contact details at http://www.jeffhawkeclub.com/fr_cosmos.htm
