The process that created Eagle was remarkably similar to the process that created the Boys' Own Paper about 80 years previously, as was the thinking behind the design - the people with the artistic vision knew that children wouldn't read anything "preachy", but might be convinced if the Christian moralising was skilfully hidden in exciting adventure stories.
