Beano Christmas Special

Post by AndyB »

This is perfect for the Classics from the Comics fan, as it consists solely of a new David Parkin cover, a Neds feature, a Carol wordsearch, a Gnasher Growler with special feature, and a few photo features, with a pile of classic Christmas reprints:

Dennis 1997, 1989*, 1969*
Kids 1972, 1998**, 1981
James 1986, 1994*
Bea 1998 (the CHANGE in NP's artwork since!)
Minnie 1981, 1992*
McTickles 1972
Pup Parade 1977 (with (Gordon) Bell's Throat Tonic)
Billy 1992*
No13 Christmas Carol 1989
Beanotown Goose Farm 1994*
3 Bears 1969
Gnasher and Gnipper 1991*
Numskulls 1993
Biffo 1993
Ivy 1991
Little Plum 1972

Is there anything in it that's not reprints?
I have read a lot of Beanos from the 80's and 90's (as well as a few from late 70's), so it's quite possible that many will be stories I have already read.

The Neds is new. So is the cover. And the Gnasher Growler pages.

I can't see the Christmas Special in the shops, only the issue dated 16th December 2006, at ?1.97 and that doesn't contain a lot of stories, mostly one large one.

The Christmas Special has been out for a few weeks now. That may be why.

Loved the poster in the Beano Max Christmas special......Nigel

Great to see old characters mixing with new.....
Your Snitchy and Snatchy looked a bit Cuddles and Dimples which is great...because they were the original!
The Ball boy joke made me laugh...
I could see you drawing the 3 Bears again......
or Big Eggo and Biffo

Anyway a top poster.....
I spotted Pinky Crackpot circus...
