When was your favourite Dandy?

Post by SID »

A simple question and more than likely it would be the Dandy of your childhood. But when was the Dandy at its best for you?

Mine was the 70s (yep my childhood). :D

Oh well. I tried voting and it says the form is invalid. (I am sure I had a similar problem way back). :(

It worked for me!

My "era" was the 1990s, but out of the back issues I have, I'm liking the 1980s ones a lot.

Remember, they do work if you change theme to Hestia (as far as I can tell - they work for me!)

Works in Absolution. I voted for the modern era, as it's the only era where I have a large number of the weeklies and not just the annuals for reference. The 60s and 80s are good eras too, from what I've seen in Classics from the Comics, the annuals, and the Internet.

If the question was least favourite, it would definitely be Xtreme.

I think everyone would vote the Extreme era as least favourite.although if you showed a kid maybe a 40s or 50s Dandy now they may say that because of all the text based adventure type serial stories because im not too fond ofthose pic strips with text myself.
Edit..absolution did the trick thanks digi.i voted the 80s which is ahead.by 1out of 6 votes lol

The 60s was my childhood, but the last six months were terrific!

What a shame I had been put off by "Xtreme"...

Mine was the final revamp, 2010-2012 - that revamp deserved more readers than it actually had. Such a shame. :(

I'm 42 but totally agree with Harry. The last couple of years had some genuinely funny strips; both from the writing and the visual humour. Which made for a perfect comic in my humble opinion.

I was that Dad that my kids had to wrestle to get to read The Dandy first when it popped through the letterbox!

Would be the same with the Digital Dandy if it wasn't so darned slow!

As already stated, my choice would be the Dandy of the 70s (plus a little 60s and 80s thrown in). But for pure fun and energy, then I agree that it goes to 2010-2012. That's one of the reasons why I was upset that it failed.

A question maybe too early to ask: Does anyone (or know of anyone that) like the digital Dandy better than its printed predecessor?

Yes! The Poll don't work. My era though is 1960-69 virtually the period I read it avidly. The Dandy was my favourite `fun` comic till `Sparky` arrived!

What was it that made you prefer Sparky, alan?

Admittedly I had a similar reaction when Cracker came out kept reading both comics.
