Can't see it. Resurrecting a failed title was never popular in the UK (yep, I know there's been rare ones like the Wizard). Annuals or specials would be interesting, or even a pull-out fun section of reprints (probably) in the Weekly News would be welcome. Any more than that, I'd bet against.

But will the Hotspur return as a monthly? We've got to hope

I agree. The only way to keep the title going is a "Fun Section" in something like The Weekly News but we know it will never happen. I mentioned somewhere else here that women's magazines in the 30s and 40s had children's section so maybe even The People's Friend or My Weekly could give it a go. Children aren't interested so it would have to be aimed at the nostalgia market.

Because if they did it in the 30s and 40s, they'll do it today.

Is this wishful thinking? I would love The Hotspur to come back - monthly or otherwise. :)

Still no more news of The Dandy? I wonder when this section will be officially retired?

About as likely as The Funny Wonder returning I'd guess. It'd be good to see a brand new adventure comic launched by DCT but the market isn't very accommodating like it used to be so I can't see it happening anytime soon. If ever. I think the future is in self contained graphic novels rather than serial papers.

Its wishful thinking

Athough, if I can get any time, I should be bringing out a series of stand-alone historical war adventure comics (y'know, Celts, Romans, Vikings etc.), starting later this year. Don't hold your breath. Early stages yet. :xfingers:

I reckon that the only way a new adventure comic will happen is by them launching a TV show based on one of their old adventure characters, and launching a comic to tie into it. And frankly, which character would be well known enough and adaptable enough for such a thing to work?

Your graphic novel idea is a good one though. I think that might work for Retro Active - they could do the backstory (the histories of the original heroes the team are successors to) in supplemental materials, similar to the Miracleman comic that recently came out.
