same for me they are very disappointing but i know it was different times back then and i was never into text stories anyway and skip them when reprinted. But saying that if i won the euromillions jackpot i would love to own the whole set.if never to be read like most of my comicsdishes wrote:There was a time I would have given down payment with my soul for an early Dandy or Beano purely to find out WHAT THEY WERE LIKE but facsimile editions and the examples reprinted in the big "History of..." books have demystified them for me.

Pretty much though it also had the awesome Daleks strip on the back cover for the first 100 or so issues.
£1700 is less than £10 each for a near on full run from #1, plus one has the 3D glasses free gift with it (which is far rarer than the gift for #1), though #1 itself isn't the best condition.
All in all I'd say that's an ok pick up for the buyer and an ok sell for the vendor. If you bought them to split and sell individually I think you could make a decent profit over a period of time, but you'd also have to check every single one for coupon cutouts which are extremely common in TV21s.
Seems to have been a lot of them on eBay over the past few months. If you're willing to pay the price then getting a full run really isn't very hard.

I noticed an American seller with a TV Tornado annual for about £600.00.
Just double checked and its Mile High comics and the have several Gerry Anderson annuals for £601.00 each.

No, it also featured Burke's Law, My Favourite Martian, The Munsters, Get Smart, The Daleks, and other non-Anderson strips over early years. Even more as time went on, such as The Saint, Department S, Land of the Giants etc. There are a few examples on my blog. Here's issue one:big bad bri wrote:these tv21 are going for a good price, must admit to never seeing this comic was it all just gerry anderson universe stories.

Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???
It's not that I found them disappointing, far from it, it's just that my curiosity was sated, and nowadays I'm not so interested in reading kids' comics anyway, I just like them for the art and the historical interest.big bad bri wrote:same for me they are very disappointing but i know it was different times back then and i was never into text stories anyway and skip them when reprinted.
Is it weird to have no interest in keeping or collecting free gifts?

some people are taking the P**s asking £10 already for scream/misty special http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2000AD-PRESEN ... 0011.m1850
Re: Ebay - you want how much for it???
Bri, are they offering free postage, because, if they are, the postage is absorbed into the final price (so that they can keep their perfect record.
This is the main reason why I won't sell anything on eBay anymore.

that's still a near £5 mark up on a comic released today.it shouldn't be allowed when you can get it from rebellions web site cover price and free postage.

Hopefully no-one looking to spend that much money on such an important comic will be fooled into thinking it's an original #1. I don't need #4453 otherwise I'd make an offer of 50p!big bad bri wrote:can we not report that he is selling it under false pretence as someone may actually believe its number 1.Meanwhile there is a genuine iss 1 for £800Hawkeye wrote:Commando #1 has been reduced from £400 to just £350 on a 'buy it now' if anyone is interested.
