THE POWER PACK OF KEN REID - UPDATES

Post by klakadak-ploobadoof »

I posted the news about the launch of my crowdfunding campaign for the reprints collection of the complete works of Ken Reid in WHAM!, SMASH! and POW! comics in my previous thread, but I hope it is OK to start a new one for updates.

In case you still haven't seen it, the campaign is now live and open to all on IndieGoGo platform here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the- ... 18513990#/

I started it last Friday and I am happy to say that it is already 50 per cent backed!

The campaign is now 75 per cent backed - and counting!

To celebrate this achievement, I have posted some good quality images of Frankie Stein original artwork by Ken on my blog. You can see them here: http://kazoop.blogspot.com/2018/06/crow ... -cent.html

Hi, the campaign will end as scheduled - I can't change that.
Nor can I move the arrangements with the printing house and print the books earlier. Besides, I am hoping for more than 100 per cent :D

The crowdfunding campaign is 92 per cent backed as of now, and there are still more than three weeks to go!

Looking at the list of supporters, I am happy to see that affection for Ken's work goes far beyond the UK - there are backers from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Greece and Germany!

Here is the link to the most recent News Update on my blog, with the second half of Frankie Stein original artwork page. https://kazoop.blogspot.com/2018/06/cro ... there.html

I did a few interviews on various blogs to support the campaign, and here are the links, in case you missed them:

The campaign has now reached 100 per cent of its goal! The most recent supporter was the 17 year-old British Artist/Satirist Zoom Rockman, demonstrating that the appreciation of Ken’s work goes way beyond nostalgia!

There are still nearly three weeks to go, and the fact that the goal has now been reached does not mean that further contributions aren’t accepted! The Etherington brothers achieved 24 000 per cent with their recent Kickstarter campaign! :)

Remember that Supporters will be the only ones who will be proud owners of the slipcase edition and prints of original artwork – these perks won’t be available to the general public when the campaign ends and the books are printed!

This afternoon I signed the contract with the printing house. All files will be submitted to them on 2 July, and I will receive hard copies of the books by 18 July!

Slipcases will take another 3 or 4 weeks to make, so I am happy that so far everything goes to plan. Those who pre-order individual books, will receive them by the end of July, and those who prefer the luxury of The Power Pack, will get theirs in the end of August.

The campaign is 109 per cent backed as of now, and is open for a further 11 days. Check it out here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the- ... 18513990#/

The Ken Reid reprints campaign ends tomorrow. It is nearly 130 per cent backed as of now, and I am still hoping for more :D

I am grateful to all fellow Ken Reid fans and bloggers who have helped me spread the word – the campaign would have hardly reached its goal without the support.

In an unlikely event if you’ve missed them, here are links to the recent posts by Lew Stringer on his Blimey! blog, and John Freeman on DownTheTubes:

The 35 funding days of my Ken Reid reprints campaign ended this weekend. It achieved 143 % of the goal, with a big boost in the last two days, so very happy about that. Thanks to all the fellow bloggers and Ken Reid fans who helped me to achieve that! The disbursement process has started, and the books are now in print, so I look forward to being able to show them on my blog in less than two weeks’ time.

If you wanted to support the project but were too busy of forgot, please, note that it is still live, and will remain open to all in INDEMAND mode, meaning you can still pre-order your slipcase set with free prints, or the individual books with free prints!

I intend to keep the IndieGoGo campaign open for another month until the time when I receive the slipcases and am ready to ship the orders for THE POWER PACK. I know I mentioned this before, but I will say it again: after I close the campaign, the books will be available to buy online, but not as a limited edition box set, and without the free artwork prints. Pre-order your copy here while you can: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the- ... 18513990#/

As was the plan, I picked up the books from the printing house this afternoon and am very satisfied with quality. You can see some pictures in my last blogpost here: http://kazoop.blogspot.com/2018/07/i-have-books.html

The printers have now started manufacturing the slipcases which should be ready in 4 weeks' time at the latest.

My crowdfunding campaign is still live and will remain active until the time when I receive the slipcases and am ready to fulfill the orders. The IndieGoGo campaign is the only place where you can pre-order your box set with free artwork prints, or individual books with free artwork prints.
