Picking up on a piece of useful information... Mitch's real name is Roy Mitchell, and I believe he's doing a fair bit of work doing Christian cartoon strips, including at least one or two regular series.

Found some info at http://www.cartoonacademy.co.uk/author.htm

Thanks for the link..

Mitchs cartoon style may of been simple...But I loved it as a kid..
his characters smiled a lot maybe that was the appeal..

From the amount of inane grinning that went on in IPC's humour comics it seems the intention was to create a friendly feelgood aspect to the strips. Not just IPC of course. This dates back to the early days of comics and artists such as Roy Wilson were masters at conveying a jolly atmosphere in the strips.

I love Mitch's stuff.

For a while, he drew Glow Boy for W&C as a Ready Brek promo. One episode he took this girl into the Tunnel of Love, they kissed in the dark, and the last frame was the two of them walking out along the dry riverbed with the girl saying "No more kissy-wissys for you!" and this cloud of gloom over heat boy's slumped shoulders.

[edit - yes, it was Glow Boy, not Heat Boy]

I just did one at Knaphill where my most popular feature was drawing cartoons on the spot for children..also a old man who in World War 2 was a airman...he even had a moustache...bought some of my Beano annuals I was selling for a £1 and my book..he said he liked The Beano in the past and would be a good read now..
I made £30 more than most stalls there due to low numbers...the table cost onl;y £10...it was good fun to do..

Must find some School fetes to do in May..
I'll let you know if any come up on here..
