Its just parsley sauce with some secret ingredients. I'm off to pay homage to the statue of Dick Van Dyke in the Old Kent Road. Speaking of which in that Christmas Blue Peter I found on video tape I think it was Duncan? of the presenters who was singing cockney songs in a terrible London accent.

I think that shop looks amazing and I wish I could try their eels. Love them.
When we go to Belgium or Netherlands, I always look for the fish stalls, which are in most towns, where you can eat various fishy delights, including eel. My favourite, however, is herring, which you eat raw with diced onions - just pick the filleted beastie up by the tail and pop it in your mouth. Absolutely scrumptious. My wife can't stand them! But the eel in green sauce is just amazing and a local delicacy.
There is a chippie in Eastbourne, if I remember correctly, who offer hulse (eel) in batter. I tried it and it was tasty.

When my dad took me down Deptford High Street in the sixties there was a fish stall in the market and I remember seeing the stall owner chopping up live eels and the individual pieces of the eels were still wriggling. I only ever tried them once.

I quite like Ida Lupino, saw her in a £1 dvd a few years back, very alluring and she went on to become a successful film director.

I went out a bit late yesterday as my duvet was more attractive than a cold bedroom. As I approached Manzes just after 3pm, looking forward to sitting down to my local delicacy, I was disappointed to see it had closed for the day. Went across the road to Goddards instead - saved. Goddards do vegetarian pies now.

I was reading this on the bus to Greenwich on Saturday. Needless to say upon reaching Greenwich I pelted across the road and into Goddards for a portion of pie mash and liquor. Its fun seeing the tourists come in and wonder what its all about and looking askance at the bright green liquor. Its a good job the old ladies name wasn't Henrietta or something similar - imagine the size of the pie then.

Reading all these posts about pie and mash made me peckish so i popped into Eastenders pie and mash shop in chrisp st market in east london,have to say it wasn't the best i've had as mash was lumpy,Maureen's around the corner was better when i tried that a few months ago.

My local newsagent sells frozen pie and mash. Useful in an emergency.

My niece is coming over on Saturday so I've been told to pick up three pies and three cartons of liquor during my peregrinations to the high street.
