I continue the series of Artist Self-Portraits that I started a year ago. The most recent blogpost has some examples of The BEANO Artist appearing in the Bash Street Kids and Biffo the Bear strips but I am not sure they are Dave Sutherland's self-portraits...

I have now posted my review of the first year of Monster Fun Comic on my blog.

As it sometimes happens when I do a longer and heavily illustrated blogpost, my blog is not updating itself on the blogs of folks who have me in their blog lists so I thought I’d plug it here for those of you who might be interested. You can read it by following this link:

Once again, my blog has not updated itself on other people's blog lists, hence the heads-up.

In case you didn’t know, I am presently covering MONSTER FUN COMIC on my blog and the most recent post is about Dough Nut and Rusty illustrated by Trevor Metcalfe. I contacted the artist with a few questions and he came up with some interesting details, particularly in regard to the end of IPC’s no-signature policy for artists in the early 70s. You can read it here:

Looking forward to your article on Major Jump, think he's my favourite in Monster Fun. Would've made a great cartoon series!
