Comic Libraries List
Re: Comic Libraries List
Thanks. I'd guessed that those three Superstars issues were all Dennis as the surrounding issues all are (you'll notice the character is already listed, just not the story title). There's a pattern to them, which changes over time as Bash Street, Roger, and then Minnie are removed from the rotation, eventually leaving every issue as Dennis by that point.

James, do you have an idea which Dandy Fun-Size this Korky strip appeared in?

It'd be around the year 2000. I did several strips for the Beano and Dandy libraries at that time but this is the only one I don't have a copy of the issue of. I think it was one of the shorter strips. 8 or 12 pages or something. Any help appreciated.

A few years before I knew it would have been some use to you, I binned all my Beano Superstars. I think, but I couldn't be sure, that they exhausted the TV scripts before cancelling it.

Re: Comic Libraries List
If it's of interest to anyone here I've listed the comic libraries (Fun-Size) that I drew strips for, on my blog:

Saw that post and just replied after several days of searching - it was issue 129, in 2002. Somebody uploaded it last month.
Re: Comic Libraries List
I know I hadn't updated this in over a year. I've just noticed that my account has been suspended for apparently breaching the Terms of Use. But I have no idea what the problem is, or how long the site has been down, as they never sent a notification email, contrary to the error message you see when you try to go to the site. I do have it saved to my computer, but I'll need to find a new host. Suggestions welcome. For now, I'm afraid my Comic Library List is offline, though luckily, it's on the Wayback Machine here:

Re: Comic Libraries List
Do you have to pay a yearly fee or something and that possibly lapsed or is there free sites you can create your own website because i want to do a site of all the big fleetway/ipc humour comics i own and possibly a page by page rtc but have no idea if i can if you have to pay fees for websites.
Re: Comic Libraries List
No, it was free hosting, so lapsing shouldn't have been an issue. There used to be lots of such services, but all of the former Geocities competitors seem to have died off or gone pay only these days.

Re: Comic Libraries List
Just joined this forum, for one soul purpose. I'm trying to find some sort of database or whatever that shows me which comics came out on specific dates. I wanna search up for birthday presents on stuff released on people birthdays including myself, I found a beano from my womb evacuation day (7/3/1998) but that's pretty much it. Please help my endeavour, if such database doesn't exist already I think that's just a crime against us comic fanatics. Cheers and peace out ✌

Welcome! Can of worms opened. I'm not sure if there is such a thorough database but the main thing to bear in mind is that, as you probably know, until relatively recent times, the cover dates of comics are not the day they arrived in the shops. They indicate the following weekend of publication. eg: as The Beano is published on Wednesday, the issue dated Saturday 7th March 1998 actually came out on Wednesday 4th March.
Therefore, in the case of comics that were published on Saturdays, the cover date is actually the date the following issue came out.
Furthermore, the named day on the covers isn't accurate either as the comics came out the day before the named day. It's a bit complicated but the basic rule of thumb is that if a comic says "Every Thursday" on the cover it came out on Wednesday. Ditto if it says "Every Monday" it came out two days earlier on Saturday. "Every Tuesday", it came out on Monday. (Various reasons I won't bore you with.) So for example, a weekly comic bearing a cover date July 26th 1969 and stating its frequency as Every Monday, actually came out on Saturday 19th July 1969.
Over-complicating matters even more, some people (and even publishers) still insist on celebrating a comic's anniversary on the cover date. Presumably they also celebrate their own birthdays a week late.
It's easy to work out once you get used to it, honest! Hope this doesn't put you off!

jphillips9873's comment should have been it's own thread really. At least he got an answer.
I've converted the Comic Libraries List into a spreadsheet, and uploaded it to Google Drive. Should be easier to do any updates in future and it eliminates the hosting problem for good.

Re: Comic Libraries List
I'm not sure if you are still updating your comic library list. But I've just noticed that the Beano Diaries includes artist information for the first 186 comic libraries, first 18 Beano specials and 3 Dandy comic libraries that included Beano characters.
Looks like you've already added the artist information that was in the Dandy Monster Index.
