Which Bash Street Kids artist is this?

Post by joybot »

Apologies if this is an answered question. Can anyone tell me which artist drew these two Beano Bash Street Kids stories –
All At Sea (1983 Comic Library)
Beano Comic Library #25 - "The Bash Street Kids are All At Sea" (1983)
Beano Comic Library #25 - "The Bash Street Kids are All At Sea" (1983)
and The Transylvania Trip (1991 Beano Special)?
Beano Special #20 - "The Transylvania Trip" (1991)
Beano Special #20 - "The Transylvania Trip" (1991)
I half-recognise the style from something in the dim and distant past, but no idea whose artwork it is (or scenario). The artwork seems to me to have a slightly European flavour, but that might be because I've read too much Spirou lately...
Thanks for any pointers or wisdom you may have!

Hi jb, Your instincts were serving you pretty well with the 'All at Sea' artist. It was drawn by the Spanish artist Josep Marti.

Kashgar, thank you so much! How great to finally put a name to a style. I nabbed this Comic Library off my brother many moons ago and have been wondering ever since!
I enjoy seeing people ghost the Bash Street Kids and this was a more unusual one. The style of "The Transylvania Trip" seemed even to have a whiff of 1970s Hanna-Barbera about it, and not just because of the werewolves et al...
