Re: Barrie Tomlinson

Sad news indeed.

Here's an excellent tribute to Barrie by John Freeman over at downthetubes.net.

Re: Rover, skipper, hotspur annuals

Have you checked the Annuals section on this very website :D

https://www.comicsuk.co.uk/annuals.php

It was compiled years ago, but may be of some use to you.

Re: Tiger comic

An excellent article-find Richard. Thank you.

Just when we thought we knew 'everything' about the Tiger comic, this comes along.

I wonder what other hidden gems are out there about British comics?

Apologies for Forum absence.

I attempted to upgrade the forum a couple of weeks ago, and it didn't go to plan. So I reinstalled the previous version.

I logged on as my tester self, made a post, replied to it and it all seemed hunky dorey, and I was off, in the knowledge that the Forum was working, albeit the previous version ...

Re: GCD indexing anomaly

IMO - They are 16 pages comics and should be indexed as such.

If I was to take one of those 16-page tabloid comics, cut them in half from left to right, place the bottom half inside the top half, it doesn't miraculously become a 32 page comic :D

Hopefully, 16-page comics are not self-identifying ...

Our Colin (aka colcool007)

Chaps and chapesses,

Doug Brian on the Warlord Facebook group has recently written this message:

Many of you have probably noticed that joint admin Colin Noble has been conspicuous by his absence on the comic chats recently.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that his wife Karen has asked me ...

Brian Walker has passed away

Some of you may be aware of Brian's passing, but I only found out about it via an email from his daughter Jo a few days ago. Brian sadly passed away back in May of this year, aged 94.

As this UK Comics Fandom web page states, he drew I Spy in Sparky, Fun Fear and Ghost Train for Whoopee!, Our Gran ...

Re: Vintage Pre-War Beano & Dandy Comics

The images for your 2 Beano's and 2 Dandy's have come through fine thanks. Very nice items to have in your collection.

I don't have any pre-war issues of these titles. My earliest is a 1941 Dandy.

However, I have managed to acquire front covers of most of the pre-war issues though. Mostly from ...
