Re: REWIND TV

Is great Rewind has been showing repeats of the 1970s Roobarb animations (I remember seeing these first time "buffer's slot" between end of kids' programs and early evening news in 1974-75) but so frustrating this is as a schedule "filler" so its in random slots arpound the schedules and thus hard t...

Re: REWIND TV

On Rewind, one series I chanced across was The Optimist. I'd never heard of this series before, I believe it was an early series for the new Channel 4 in 1983. Quite enjoyable in places it is. However they have only been showing its first series, would love to see the second if and when they get the...

Re: REWIND TV

I do remember reading an article on Brinsworth about 20 years ago, and Richard was shown there alongside the likes of DJ Alan Freeman and Penny Calvert - Bruce Forsyth's first wife and a former pop singer to boot. Charlie Drake was also in room but refused to take part and be pictured, by then he wa...

Re: REWIND TV

I think Man from UNCLE is an acquired taste like most cult TV shows - either people like it or they don't, each to their own. Will say that when viewing UNCLE it has provided me with a few inspirations of spy/sci-fi ITC type TV series I've been creating in my mind for so many years. May see light of...

Re: Talking Pictures TV

My initial E Mail did say much more, but Mike and Noel only have x amount of time to read out the huge amount of e mails they receive. I also mentioned their 3 music film appearances, but no time for these even if two of these have been on TPTV: They appeared at the end of the film Ring A Ding rhyth...

Re: Talking Pictures TV

I finally got to see via TPTV Encore last Sunday's (03/11/24) edition of The Footage Detectives,(after I got distracted on Sunday), yesterday afternoon.

I got a mention on that edition with my wide information of the brilliant 60s group Sounds Incorporated.

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Forgot to say also received 3 June and SF picture libraries. These were narrowly won after a competitive bidding war with another buyer on EBay. If I want some things enough I'm like a rottweiler and won't let go. Paid much more than my first bid, but I still feel I got 3 worthy bargains. For the re...

Re: Space 1999 EPISODE ORDER

I can remember when Space 1999 was repeated around the ITV regions during the 1980s, the episode orders were very random and erratic region to region. Also in 1987, the Central region's repeats of UFO were very random - one week I'd see an letter filmed episode featuring Col Virginia Lake, then next...

Re: Talking Pictures TV

By the way, I did see Michael Cronin with a real beard in 200s when talking about Grange Hill on Channel 4. I also do remember seeing him sans beard on a edition of Take Two, the 1980s clips and features BBC children's series on a behind scenes edition filmed in Wales. He was seen filming an unused/...

Re: Talking Pictures TV

Yeah I've been trying to find HHOMAS on DVD for years without success; and with Network long bust that sounds more unlikely. It used to get shown in my then region - TVS - late on weekday nights in 1987-88. Another they'd show at that time were repeats of 1968-69 series Journey To The Unknown, none ...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

A 1966 June and SF from January 1966 arrived in post this week, complete with original gift of Jimmy Tarbuck's Book Of Stars with a selection of pictures not yet stuck in book. Cost a kidney but worth it. I've just 3 editions short of a J and SF set. I did see and flick through another copy of that ...

Re: What comics DIDN'T you buy today?

I sure missed on open goal there, will be kicking myself for that. Still live and learn and that applies for collecting comics too. Keith Weller did go to Chelsea after Millwall - I did see a repeated Big Match (or was it on one of my Big Match DVDs, the one of Chelsea - I have them all for all team...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Also via E Bay I bought my sought after Fireball XL5 comic anthology, Cost me an arm leg and kidney, but was worth it, worth every penny. Awesome artworks, even if the combined Anderson series strip is a let down in plot terms. Wondered what I was doing but you could get run down by a bus tomorrow. ...

Re: Talking Pictures TV

Nice one Steve, fascinating info. Been enjoying those Hammer House Of Mystery and Suspense on Friday Nights, especially as I've seen a few familiar faces in cameos further down the cast list. In "Mark Of The Devil" there was Reginald Marsh - best known as Humphrey from George and Mildred (the latter...

Re: What comics did you buy today?

Almost forgot, I recently received volume one of the Stingray Comic Anthology from the Anderson store. I pre-ordered it bit a week it went on official sale I was still waiting so I contacted the store, who responded quickly and informed me they were sending it now. Arrived in a big box in a very sna...
