Re: Lockdown in comics
Maggie! Maggie! Maggie! - Out! Out! Out! A common chant back then. Indrajal are definitely worth a look. Not only Garth but those other strips you mention. Plus The Phantom and Mandrake.. That is as long as you don't mind the bad printing and colouring. yes! Mind you ìt would have been interesting ...

Re: Lockdown in comics
Yes I've also missed getting out and about and when lockdowns finished I will be ready to start spending. Staying in reminds me of that old joke. Dr: " you will have to stay in an isolation room and be fed pancakes" Patient: " why pancakes?" Dr: "the're the only things we can slide under the door" I...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
Spent more than I normally do for a book this morning in a charity shop and that was £6 for the Amalgamated press Billy the Kid book. I liked the look of the book and would have preferred to pay 2 or 3 pounds but what the heck. https://i.imgur.com/bZLmcju.jpg I think they must have had a stricter ap...

Re: Ĺucky buy
No joke, me & my brother collected hundreds of comics & annuals in our time. It got to the point where we were running out of space, so we had to sell them all, well the annuals at least. We then realised it was more sensible to collect mainly comics as they were easier to store. Yes storage is a p...

After 3 cancelled holidays this year managed a holiday at last in Norfolk last week. While away my son rang to say he had picked up two annuals for £4 at a carboot sale, That's not always welcome for as well as me having to pay for them he doesn't know what annuals I have in my collection. He droppe...

Re: What comics did you buy today?
In Forbidden Planet they had all the Free Comic Book Day (Which was cancelled in May) comics on the shelves. In our shop there is usually a limit of two free comics per person, therefore I asked at the counter how many I could have and to my surprise they said I could have as many titles as I wanted...

comics reflecting history
Comics before , let's say the 50's were not exactly p.c. , full of racial stereotypes , what should we do with these comics , burn them? bin them ?and lose part of our history or except that people saw the world differently then and move on.Society evolves ,newspaper page 3 , beauty contests and man...

Re: Lockdown rambles ( without pics.)
I leave for Kempton Park at around 8.30am and don't get home until about 2.30pm without once needing a toilet. Why do people have such weak bladders? I used to arrive at work around 9.30am and not use the toilet until about 5.30pm. I could have been a superhero. Look its Super Bladder Man! See how ...
