Re: how many Buster issues?

Bit late to the party on this one, but for the record I got to 1906 by taking the listing in the oracle (AKA, The Buster Index) and then adding on the issues post 1995. In theory, the dates on Page by Page http://bustercomic.co.uk/decades.html should link to an issue in existence and accounts for st...

Re: Buster Comic websites

That's exactly how I started out, Bri! Comics UK & Toonhound had sections on Buster, but not much and as a reader of the comic for 8 years, I wanted more specifically about that. The rest is history. Page by Page launched with the ideal of looking like this http://bustercomic.co.uk/151284.html , the...

Re: Buster Comic websites

Hello everyone, Long time no speak. Bit of an update from me. Been meaning to do something about this for a while. Sadly, as so often happens, life gets in the way. I've still got plenty of comics to list in the page by page and strips to place pictures on etc etc, but I just don't seem to find the ...

Re: Latest Bustercomic.co.uk Updates

I angrily texted Radio Five a couple of times yesterday asking why they kept interrupting the football commentary to go to the Grand Prix. I opined that nobody in their right mind would have any interest in cars going round a track apart from a few yuppies. Told them I was retuning to Talk Sport wh...

Re: What was your favourite?

Slightly predictable but it was Buster for me. By the time I got to comics all the Fleetway ones had gone, so it was Buster at 32 pages, or the Dandy/Beano which always seemed so thin in comparison. That said I did like BVC & Buster Classics when they came along too. And as a slightly older kid I pi...

Re: Buster's big five-0

For those of you who don't or can't drop by our Facebook page; Recently got the full transcript of an interview of the life of Ron "Nobby" Clark. It's absolutely fascinating reading through his tales of life in the air force during the war, working with many Fleetway names, including Reg Parlett, be...

Re: Big Daddy from Buster and Jackpot to appear on the One Show

Yeah, the one show have a habit of pulling in lots of things they don't actually use. I remember a couple of years ago they contacted a few of us about Gums, for a section on comics, and as well as a picture I provided a short synopsis of how Gums went from Monster Fun to Buster. When the ep aired, ...

Re: Years of "Maxwell Hawke" in `Buster` comic!

Ok, first things first. For the record I LOVE my Buster Comic Index. That book is the sole reason my site became the size it is today. I fully appreciate the work that went into it and I'm not pointing fingers when I say some things were missing. If I'm honest, I'm surprised it was anywhere near as ...

Re: Years of "Maxwell Hawke" in `Buster` comic!

I have found the link. It lists each adventure with dates! Pity there are no story synopsis as I only have distant memories of the strip! Can I ask about `Buster` comic? Apart from the times it absorbed other comics, were there instances of `Free gift` promotions and strip turnover very often? Hi A...

Re: Years of "Maxwell Hawke" in `Buster` comic!

In Alan's defence when searching under m in the Page by Page it doesn't exactly stand out.

I'll have to get a title box up there so it shows up better!

Re: How to get rid of unwanted comics

You could pop your list up again.....I don't recall having seen it and am on the lookout for Busters.

I've often wondered how Boot Sales do.....have been considering for some time taking my duplicates off to one to see if they'll clear.

Re: Years of "Maxwell Hawke" in `Buster` comic!

I believe the list is reprinted from the excellent Buster Index 1960-1995 by Ray Moore and Steve Holland (couldn't find any reference or credit on the website though). Maxwell Hawke also appeared in Buster books (= annuals) 1962-1967. The stories were: The Black Monk - 1962 The Ghost of Glenghoul C...
