Re: Mike Hubbard - But where were they published?

Hi Goof

Thanks for your thoughts. Sorry to take so long answering had a nasty flu over Christmas. I've updated the Dudley Wynne reference - thanks for that.
Looking at the artwork - as you say - I now wonder who the 'other' artist is. I wrote so much and was so concerned with making sure I covered ...

According to Steve Holland's index, it was in Hurricane 19 December 1964. Thank Steve by buying his comic indexes at https://Bearalleybooks.blogspot.com

Re: Mike Hubbard - But where were they published?

Ooh Goof, I hadn't noticed the page numbering on the artwork. I shall have to dig them out and CAREFULLY make notes of them and go from there. I can't find any reference to a 1976 - except with Book Palace - but shall carry on searching just in case. Thanks a lot Goof

Mike Hubbard - But where were they published?

It occurred to me to ask you guys and gals about some artwork I own by Mike Hubbard - he of "Jane Bond" fame from Princess Tina .
These are the titles written on the artboards and some have two images from one 'title' which I assume is the story and some have only one but the board has two images ...

Re: A. R. Payne - Boys Own Paper Contributer

Hi Matt
First of all, I applaud your trying to give an artist credit.
I do have a few BOP around the 40s - but mainly 50s. I've looked through the small editions which ran from page 1 to page 56 and gave credits to the cover artists - most of the time. Interior credits are sporadic but one credit in ...

Tim, can you tell me the name of any strips that might be in Top Spot. I own just one issue (because I have the artwork for a story - but not by Fratani!)

Re: SANDIE: "Dancing to Danger" ARTIST

Thank you SO much Goof. The reason I hesitated to use Jenni's date was that her indexing appeared TO ME to be inconsistent in places - Hey! I'm the same with Bellamy and I've been on it for centuries - well since the last century!!
The image you uploaded is incredible - that face on the second row ...

SANDIE: "Dancing to Danger" ARTIST

I was surfing the Net looking for Tom Kerr materials for a listing I'm putting together and spotted Jenni Scott's reference to Kerr illustrating the "Dancing to Danger" story in Sandie (16 Jun 1973-29 Sep 1973)
This episode is the only one I've seen and it said it was in Sandie 2 June 1973
Does ...

Re: Need help identifying a Reg Smythe daily strip feature

The copyright BULLS could suggest it was from John Bull magazine which was still going up to the early sixties. I've asked my mate Steve to check as he collects John Bull magazine and may also have Reg Smythe's biography.
It looks to me to be the "Bulls Pressetjeneste A/S" - see http ...
